Anglia Bits – Late August ‘09

Photo’s that don’t really warrant their own collection taken over the last few weeks of August 2009. The main bulk are from a short stint at Manningtree, including GBRF’s 4M02, 90011 on a failed passenger set and 66954 during sunset at Ipswich. Also included are several photos of 6M69 Sizewell – Willesden with 37’s 423 and 611.

19th August

OS_DSC_9688_190809_small90043 passes Manningtree with a Intermodal service to Ipswich.

OS_DSC_9700_190809_small90010 leaves Manningtree bound for Norwich.

OS_DSC_9705_190809_small66592 storms through Manningtree with a downroad Freightliner.

OS_DSC_9712_190809_small90011 passes Manningtree with 5P28, an ECS to Norwich following the failure of 82127 on 1P28 earlier on. The 90 has run round to lead.

OS_DSC_9729_190809_small90015 gives a shove at the back of a service train to Norwich.

OS_DSC_9734_190809_small66707 rushes up through Manningtree with 4M02, the evening container service to Hams Hall near Birmingham.

OS_DSC_9746_190809_small66954 pulls out of Ipswich Yard in tricky but impressive lighting conditions with an evening container service.

27th August

OS_DSC_9785_280809_smallHaving crossed the level crossing at Red House Farm with 37423 and 37611, Driver Scrivens waits for his secondman to rejoin the train having seen to the gates at the remote location. All the level crossings on the Saxmundham – Leiston branch are operated by the traincrew of the flask trains to and from the British Energy operated plant at Sizewell.
